Better Health In Four Easy Steps

Better health in four easy steps:

Consider these bite-sized nuggets of healthy living information:

First let’s weigh the benefits of NUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENTS.  It’s very difficult to get all the nutrients your body needs through food alone.  Therefore, I believe it is important to add a good multi-vitamin/mineral supplement to your daily regimen. If you find out, (through blood tests ordered by your doctor), that you are below a healthy level of any other necessary vitamins or minerals, (such as Vitamin D, Vitamin C, Potassium, CoQ10, etc.) also include them as supplements.

Next on the list of healthy habits is HEALTHY EATING.  I’m sure you have heard that, “You are what you eat,” but do you really take those words seriously.  Good nutrition takes a conscious effort to gradually improve your eating habits.   Good food choices include: nuts, berries, peanut butter, (as long as you are not allergic to peanuts), olive oil, greens, chicken, whole grains, fresh vegetables and other fruits, etc.

Try eating less of the bad food choices like saturated fats, high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oils, fried foods, processed foods, high sodium foods, foods high in white sugar etc.  Reading the label of what you are eating will tell you a lot.

You’ll be amazed at what happens when you gradually start to improve your eating habits.

EXERCISE is number three on our healthy lifestyle list. There are so many benefits of exercising, including stronger bones, more energy, better breathing and improved libido.

Your goal should be to exercise 3-5 times each week with no more than one hour per workout session.  Include both strength training and cardio exercises.  Tip:  3 added pounds of muscle will burn as many calories as if you ran a mile.

Last but not least is the importance of STRESS MANAGEMENT AND SLEEP.  Unmanaged stress will do damage to your body.  Try practicing deep breathing exercises each morning.  You should aim for 7-9 hours of sleep each night.  It is during your sleeping hours that your body repairs itself.

Now that you have the basics get started on your better health to do list.  Later you can expand your information on nutritional supplements, good nutrition, and so on.  Time invested in improving your health is wisely invested and it will pay big dividends.
